Role of Associate Editors: Associate Editors will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor to:

  • Identify suitable peer reviewers for assigned papers
  • Manage the manuscripts’ double-blind review process
  • Facilitate communication among reviewers, authors, and the Managing Editor
  • Ensure a fair, efficient, and accurate review process

Editorial Board members are expected to actively promote the journal and encourage high-quality work submissions. Associate Editors should dedicate approximately two days per month to journal activities and participate in annual Editorial Board meetings, which are typically conducted online. Proficiency in English reading and writing is essential, as the journal will only accept English submissions by next year.

Appointments are for a two-year term, renewable. Associate Editors will receive complimentary membership in the Brazilian Information Design Society (SBDI).

Eligibility: Candidates can be based anywhere in the world, provided they have regular internet access. Applicants should hold a PhD, regular scientific publications related to information design and experience in publishing and reviewing academic work.

Application Process: Applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee composed of SBDI board members and current InfoDesign Editorial Board members. The committee will evaluate candidates based on their alignment with the Associate Editor profile and the overall balance of expertise on the Editorial Board. We are particularly seeking candidates who can bring expertise in the topics highlighted above.

To apply, please email the Managing Editor, Dr. Sara Goldchmit (infodesign at sbdi.org.br), including a statement outlining your suitability for the role and a short curriculum vitae, along with a list of relevant publications and peer-review activities.
