Author Biographies

Doris Kosminsky, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ

Doris Kosminsky is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where she contributes to the Graduate Programs in Design and Visual Arts. She is the founder and coordinator of the Visuality and Visualization Lab (Labvis), leading projects and research in Data Visualization, Information Design, and creative data-driven processes, with many peer-reviewed publications.
Among her key achievements are curating and organizing the exhibitions and books "Existência Numérica" (2018), Brazil's first data visualization exhibition, and "Existência Numérica: Emergências" (2024). Doris is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow, an Our State Scientist (a grant program by FAPERJ), and a former grantee of the Grand Challenges Explorations - Brazil, a collaboration between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and CNPq.

Priscila Lena Farias, Universidade de São Paulo

Priscila Lena Farias, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design (FAU USP), where she coordinates the Visual Design Research Lab (LabVisual), and a researcher supported by CNPq (Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). She was the editor-in-chief of the journal InfoDesign for 20 years (2004-2024), is currently a member of the Editorial Board of other scientific publications such as the Journal of Design History and The Design Journal and acts as a referee for many other academic publishers, events and funding agencies. She has published and lectured widely on design, typography and semiotics.
