Abstract

Discussing the text/image dichotomy, expressed by the philosopher Vilém Flusser as a dimensional distinction
between line and surface, the author proposes that these informational spaces are deeply intertwined along
the different perceptual scales involved in their apprehension, implying that the understanding of this
relationship may be refreshing for writers and readers.

Rodolfo Capeto, UERJ

Rodolfo Capeto, Designer formado em 1980 pela Esdi (Escola Superior de Desenho
Industrial)/Uerj (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro), escola onde ensina desde 1992. Foi
pioneiro, no país, no uso de processos digitais no design, e trabalha em diversos campos do
design visual, com ênfase na tipografia.
