Abstract

This paper is a synthesis of a research that resulted in the elaboration of a guide for interface design analysis,
grounded on the areas of Design, HCI and Pedagogy, with the aim of carrying through an evaluation of
usability aspects in a distance learning environment. This investigation analysis the role of the designer in
enhancing information and communication in educational environments mediated by the internet. With such
procedures, the development of interfaces focused on the user and the enhancement of educational
environments standards is intended, making distance learning more productive and interactive. The validation
of a guide, which is the object of the present paper, was done using the “Oficina Projeto Didático”
environment offered by CCEAD (Coordenação Central de Educação a Distância da PUC-Rio).
